Version 1.0 · effective 26 August 2026 · applies to trybenchline.com and to email we send

1. Who we are

Benchline, a sole proprietorship registered in Israel, operating trybenchline.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.

2. The short version

We do two things with personal data. We send cold business email to people at companies we think need competitor research — and if you tell us to stop, we keep a record of your address forever so that we never contact you again. And we take orders: an email address, three competitor domains, and whatever your payment provider needs to bill you.

We do not sell data. We do not build profiles of individuals. The research we sell is about companies, from public sources.

3. If we emailed you first

This is the section you are probably here for

You did not give us your address. We obtained it from a licensed B2B contact database — a commercial provider that compiles business contact details, chiefly from public professional profiles and company websites. The specific provider is available on request from hello@trybenchline.com.

We hold, for that purpose: your business email address, your name, your job title, and the company and company website you are associated with. Nothing about you personally, and nothing from your private life.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — direct marketing of a business service to a business role, at a business address. We consider that interest balanced against your rights because the contact is work-related, low-volume, easy to stop, and stopped permanently on the first request.

You can object at any time and we will act on it immediately. Reply "unsubscribe", or use the one-click unsubscribe in any message, or write to hello@trybenchline.com. No reason required, and we will not ask for one.

Where our mail comes from

Cold email is sent from one of three domains, and any given conversation stays on one of them throughout: benchlineresearch.com, hellobenchline.com, teambenchline.com. They are all us. Replies to any of them reach us.

What happens when you opt out

Your address goes onto a suppression list, kept indefinitely, and is checked before every send. This is a deliberate exception to deleting your data: the only way to guarantee we never mail you again is to remember that we must not. The suppression record holds your email address and the date, and nothing else. It is never used to contact you, and asking us to erase it would remove the very thing that protects you — but you can ask, and we will explain the consequence before acting.

We never see your card details. Checkout is handled entirely by Paddle as our merchant of record — Paddle is the legal seller of the order, takes the payment, issues the invoice and remits the tax. What reaches us is the email address on the order and the domains you asked about.

5. The dossier is produced by an AI system

How the product is made

Dossiers are researched and written by an automated AI system. We do not run our own models: producing your dossier requires sending the competitor domains you named, and the public research gathered about them, to one or more third-party AI providers. No analyst reviews the dossier before it is sent.

We use commercial API tiers whose terms state that submitted content is not used to train the provider's models, and we contract with each provider as a data processor. We cannot offer you a stronger guarantee than the one our providers give us.

What we send them is the three domains you named and public information about those companies — not your customer list, not your financials, and nothing else about you. The intake is three domains precisely so that there is nothing else to send.

6. Processors we use

Each is bound by its own data processing terms. Paddle is the exception to the word "processor": as merchant of record they are the seller of your order and an independent controller of the payment data they collect, governed by Paddle's own privacy notice.

We name categories rather than individual vendors because the providers we use may change. You are entitled to know exactly who processes your data at any given moment — ask at hello@trybenchline.com and we will tell you, including which database your details came from.

7. International transfers

We operate from Israel, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. Transfers to US-based processors rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism in each processor's terms.

8. How long we keep things

Where a deletion request conflicts with a legal retention obligation, we delete what we can and retain only the minimum the law requires — typically the invoice, not the dossier.

9. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party scripts. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you were not asked.

Our email is a different matter: outreach messages carry standard delivery and open tracking, served from a subdomain of the sending domain. We use it to stop mailing people who are not reading, which is in your interest as much as ours. Blocking remote images in your mail client defeats it entirely and changes nothing else.

10. Your rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law and, where applicable, the GDPR and UK GDPR, you may:

Write to hello@trybenchline.com. We respond within 30 days, and to an unsubscribe immediately.

11. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and held in access-controlled systems. Payment credentials never touch our infrastructure. We will notify affected people and the relevant authority of any breach that presents a risk to them, without undue delay.

We are a small operation, not a bank. We tell you what we actually do rather than claiming certifications we do not hold.

12. Children

This service is sold to businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

13. Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a new version number and effective date. The version in force when you purchased is the one that governs your order.

14. Contact

hello@trybenchline.com for anything on this page, including removal.
